Its dark passenger, in conflict with duality
"I'll play dead" she thought, hope sinking..
She wasn't its first, "God, help me", he cried, struggling with reality

She was barely past the age of a minor, but hardly a threat
"You taunt me from safe inside your crowd", a voice whispers in its ear
"My looks, they must threaten you", it said, feeling superior
A lightbulb clicked, "It's time to kill", continued the voice, the end was near, and she had no idea

From its river dwelling, wielding double arrows, encased in ice
To its large in-land sea, yielding frozen rocks
"Find me", it pleads, "Be warned, for tomorrow -- not so nice"
Make your way, watch out above! -- or you'll end up in a lead box

It spends its days drinking, lamenting its cursed vex
"If only I could reach out and touch someone", it confides
The nights, it hunts, serving the whispers like a hex
At twillight, 'tween spans, where crows gather, the coin hides

It offered her a smoke and a ride home, once the music had drowned
She nervously mentioned, "I hope it's OK?", fumbling thru her purse
From a six sided bar 'cross the river she later was found
Lifeless and still, living no longer, “Listen", It calls, "I'm sorry... but you'll need a hearse"

She looked up at it, helpless, through the water
It smiled as the light grew dim, whispering, "Danse Macabre"
Without a trace it left in the dark
To hide in a place with nowhere to park

From a phone booth near a depot and diner, again it called in its transgressions
The cops traced its call hoping to find him, but it took off in a dash.
It zigged and zagged down near the river, a PBR in hand, "Those Pigs", he laughed, "I've schooled them!"
